As you can probably tell by going through this site, I am a big proponent of developing awesome relationships to dominate in business. In my own experience, many of the joys of life and business came through the hands of someone in my network. Like travelling to China, Russia, Nigeria or being asked to speak the Governor's Reception in Anguilla or being on the cover of Gigare, an international online magazine. Simple things like checking out a new movie, eating at the latest restaurant, or getting tax reductions, came through knowing someone who knew something.
At the heart of any relationship is a connection. Bottom line is that people do business with who they like and respect. Clients pay because they feel connected enough to you in order to trust you with their money in exchange for your service. The media will only pick up stories that help them to connect better with their audiences.
In investigating how do we connect in order to build extraordinary relationships to achieve unparalleled success, I came up with 5 C's.

In investigating how do we connect in order to build extraordinary relationships to achieve unparalleled success, I came up with 5 C's.
1. Character
Though this is self- explanatory, I'll still take a second to just say this. No one likes a jerk. Be nice, treat people with respect, know your strengths and weaknesses and develop your character. This is the litmus test, "when no one is looking, are you doing the things that need to be done, whether you like it or not, in with excellence and passion?"
2. Commitment
Commitment is one of those things that will test your character. If you can't commit, it is usually a sign that your character needs some work. Here's something to consider, the same way a woman can't be 'kinda' pregnant is the same way we can't be "kinda" committed. Commitment is absolute until the mission has been accomplished. People want to know they can rely on you and that shows through your commitment.
3. Communication
Communication is SO important. I know it sounds like a cliche but it's true. Everything communicates, the way you look, your website, your business card, how your provide customer service, how you speak or how you don't. These all tell a piece of the story that is you. However, my question to you is, are you listening? Communication is a two way street. Listening is needed to better serve your clients and community as well as to overcome the challenges that occur with miscommunication.
4. Community
Success is a team sport and it truly takes a village to build a thriving business. Who is on your team? Who is in your village? How are you communicating with them? Social media is a powerful tool to help build your community, still this much more than getting to gizillion 'followers'. This is ensuring that you are in touch with those who like and love you and that you show you them that you truly and authentically care.
5. Collaboration
I once said this "If you are not collaborating you are competing and if you are competing you are failing!" It ran of the tip of my tongue so fast that I did not have time to process the magnitude of that statement until afterwards. Real success is abundant and can be shared. Knowing how to collaborate and with whom may be the most important skill to develop if you are leading a prospering 21st century organisation.
Was this valuable to you?
If YES...then share it with your colleagues and friend. If the answer is NO, then I STILL want to know. It helps me better help you. However, no matter what the answer is, leave a comment, let me know you stopped and after that continue to #GoDominate
